Description

As prosecutors, there is an immense amount of discretion given when making decisions related to criminal cases. With this discretion comes increased responsibility to the community as a whole, which includes defendants. As mental health awareness intertwines with the criminal legal system, approaches towards restorative practices not only lie with the prosecutors, but with the police and advocates working with victims of crimes and members of the community. During this program, you will hear from key players and their work as they directly handle the intersectionality of mental health and the criminal legal system.
